Treatments 2006

I found a Mayo Clinic fellowship doctor in Boulder.  Her name is Melody Denham and she highly advised against a pain pump.  My new course of treatment will be getting acclimated to methadone or something similar, new leads added to my spine and then a pain pump.  Hopefully medicine will be able to bring me down to a 3 on the pain scale.  I am leaving for warmer weather for a month, but can always be reached at my website.  Please continue to have faith... We will find a cure.

I am continuing my treatment with Dr. Denham.  She is very bright, and although she does not have a cure, I highly recommend her as a pain management doctor.    She does not have a web site, but you can reach her at 303.413.0100.  One of her assistants is Torri.

I have also recently begun seeing a psychologist, John Mark Disorbio.  I have to tell you I am very impressed with his knowledge of RSD/CRPS and chronic pain overall.  He is on the board of Directors of the National Pain Foundation and is full of ideas and help with all this gut wrenching pain.

Finally, I am still adament about finding a cure.  I have been in contact with CU stem cell research and would like to get money to them.  Therefore, I am selling rubber bracelets for $4.00 a piece for which the money above and beyond my cost ($1.65) will go to the research.  I will keep you all updated on my doings as they happen.  Look to fundraiser for new information on upcoming events.

KACI CORRIGAN - spring 2006

Kaci is in Philadelphia right now going through a pain program.  You can follow her progress through www.carepages.com.  Then go into visitor do your own sign in and then go to KaciCorrigan.  It sounds like the program is a desensitivity program and I have asked both Kaci and Linda to keep us informed on her progress.  If it works, how great would that be.  Thank you Linda and Kaci for providing me with this new information.  I will pray hard for a cure!!!  Hey everyone, Kaci had a bad Wednesday.  Please go to her carepage and provide her with the support she needs asap.  Thanks.

Update  Summer 2006 - Kaci has undergone the Ketamine Coma study in Monterey Mexico.  She did very well during the coma part, but coming out of the coma has been quite a bit more challenging.  She is suffering from the hallucinations that are very frightening and I can't imagine how a 15 year old would feel going through them.  They scare me and I'm 52 (years young, of course).  Please say many prayers for Kaci and her family as she is brought out of her coma, and begins to recover and hopefully build a pain free life!!

Kaci - new update
Kaci came out of her coma and is currently doing boosters every 2 weeks.  The treatment has helped completely relieve her allodynia pain, but her RSD pain is not yet diminished.  I believe it is the Doctor's hope that over time, this pain too will either diminish or go away.  If you would like to follow Kaci's care, please go towww.carepages.com.  There you can follow all of her treatment and get updates.

Rachel Robinson - Is a thirteen year old RSD patient who has had a very rough time getting appropriate medical care.  She can also be found on www.carepages.com.  She needs all the support you can give her along with her mother Lorraine.

Finally, Linda Corrigan, Kaci's mother sent me the information for the next two patients in the coma study.  You can visit their information at the following websites and follow them through the experience.
